The night's festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with the parade course running down Nashville Street and ending at the historic Ringgold Depot.
Chorus performances from various area groups will take place at the Depot immediately following the parade, along with the opportunity for children to visit and get their picture made with Santa who will be making a pit-stop in Ringgold.
"Kids will be able to see Santa, there will musical entertainment and concessions, and the downtown shops will stay open a little later than usual so that folks can get a jump on their Christmas shopping," said city manager Dan Wright.
The parade route will pass by Citizen's Park in the middle of town where the Downtown Development Authority recently placed the city's new Christmas tree.
"We're glad to have the new tree in the park," said G. Larry Black, city council member and chairman of the DDA. "The tree was purchased a few months back, and by buying it early, we were able to save more than $2,300."
The tree is 16.5 feet tall, and has more than 3,000 LED lights on it, Black said.
The Down Home Christmas parade line up will be on Robin Road off of LaFayette Street prior to the scheduled 6 o'clock start time, with the participants to be announced at the intersection of Tennessee and Nashville Streets.
