LaFayette Middle School softball team shuts down Trion

The LaFayette Middle School softball team coasted to a 12-0 win at Trion on Friday.

Katie Cain and Ashton Stallings combined to pitch a perfect game. Cain fanned six in three innings of work, while Stallings threw one inning and struck out one hitter.

Shayla Ludy was 2-for-4 with a single, a homerun, three RBIs and two runs scored. McKenzie Hogue had two hits and an RBI. Kaite Cook tripled, scored twice and drove in a run, while Kiki Evans singled and scored twice.

Sydney Adkins had one hit and one RBI. Shayla Youngblood singled and scored. Raleigh Lewis walked twice and scored two runs. Kayleigh Goff walked once and scored, and Madison Harris picked up an RBI.

LaFayette was slated to play at Chattanooga Valley on Tuesday.
