“We’re really excited about this show,” said producer-director JC Smith. “We have so many talented people that are a part of this production, and it has just been a wonderful experience.”
Closed Door Entertainment, which brought “The Wizard of Oz,” “The Hobbit,” and “Camelot” to the Colonnade stage this past year, will be presenting “Annie” to the community over the next two weekends.
“It really is a great show, and everybody involved really pulled together and have done an amazing job,” Smith said.
Annie, a spunky, abused orphan who dreams of one day finding her parents, runs away from the orphanage, only to be returned to supervision of the shady Ms. Hannigan played by Susan Clark.
Eventually, Annie’s luck changes when billionaire Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks decides to invite an orphan to live with him for the duration of the Christmas holidays, and chooses Annie.
With “Daddy” Warbucks' help, Annie sets out to find her parents while trying to avoid a crooked scheme by Ms. Hannigan, her brother Rooster (Josh Harrell), and Rooster’s girlfriend Lily (Kim Knight.)
With a wonderful cast, and songs that will bring back memories from years gone by, “Annie” has a little some-thing for the whole family.
