The Ringgold High School marching Tiger band is in full swing.

“We have very strong leadership as always,” band director Robin Christian said. “Our band is very student-led and our students have a tremendous amount of pride in what they do… and that’s a wonderful thing.”

There band has 165 members. It has three drum majors, 13 band managers and 22 color guard members.

Drum majors are Tirzah Caroll and Michelle Hackney, both seniors, and Hunter Lewis.

Judy King, secretary of band boosters at Ringgold High, said the main show this year features four movements from the musical “Carmen.”

“Carmen” is the story of a dancing gypsy who entertains the Spanish army and eventually draws a jealous lover.

King said the show will feature dancing from the color guard. The band creating a “phenomenal” backdrop to create a setting, he said.
