Snack truck driver in Rossville shot in face, in critical condition

A snack truck driver was shot in the face in Rossville this morning.

According to Catoosa County Sheriff Phil Summers:

A shooting incident occurred at the intersection of Oak Street and Carline Road about 7 a.m.

Officers arrived at the location and found the victim, Connelly Dean Cofer of 7131 Mountain View Road, Ooltewah, Tenn., suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.

Cofer was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel and transported to Erlanger Medical Center. He is listed in critical condition, according to Erlanger

Information at this time is sketchy on the cause of the shooting incident. Investigators are conducting interviews with residents in the area.

Cofer operates a vending service and travels to business locations catering food and drink items to workers. It is unknown at this time whether robbery may have been a motive.

Investigators with the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the shooting inci-dent along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
