Kiwanis Club of Ringgold recently provided a grant of $200 to Christ Chapel Share and Care Mission. The grant will assist with the food pantry ministries. The grant funds come from the club’s annual fundraising efforts to assist community programs that improve the lives of children.
“This is such an important focus of what we have done in the last year,” Hanson said. “In addi-tion to the donation, we continue to coordinate the Catoosa Can program with food donation boxes located in businesses throughout the community. That effort has helped us provide a great deal of food at different points throughout the year,” he said.
Hanson said that the club is continuing that project and encourages the public to leave non-perishable foods in the boxes found in area businesses or donate directly to Christ Chapel.
Christ Chapel works with the homeless, families and individuals in need such as people who lose their home through fire, people who are facing divorce or separation, people who suddenly become unemployed and foster families — anyone with a legitimate need.
People in need may apply for a voucher through a supporting church or Department of Family and Children Services. The organization receives voucher candidates Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to1:30 p.m. and on Saturday 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
