Maryia Mazhei and Jason Cox will be married Saturday, Aug. 26, at 4 p.m. at Burning Bush Baptist Church in Ringgold.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Leonid Mazhei of Minsk, Belarus. She is the sister of Oleg Mazhei of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and the granddaughter of Afanasey Klecov and Maryia Klecova of Minsk, and Egor and Maryia Mazhei of Mogilev, Belarus. Her American parents are Dean and Paggy Gayton of Rossville, and her American grandparents are Bill and Wilma Patty of Ringgold.

She is a 2005 graduate of UTC with a bachelor’s degree in business management. She is a marketing assistant with ERMC in Chattanooga, Tenn.

The future groom is the son of Rev. David and Lindy Cox of Chatsworth. He is the grandson of Sue Thompson of Chatsworth, the late Richard Thompson Sr. and Carolyn Cox, and the late Jimmy Cox.

He is a 1994 graduate of Murray County High School and a 1998 graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service with an associate’s degree in mortuary science. He is a funeral director with the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory in Rossville.
