Former Gordon Lee sofball standout Kaity Holloway as been named as the Southern Conference's Pitcher of the Week for April 14.

The Chattanooga freshman threw 16.1 innings in four relief appearances last week, allowing only two earned runs and tallying a 0.86 ERA.

Holloway allowed just one extra-base hit for the week while earning three wins and holding her opponents to a .175 batting average.

She struck out 10 batters and walked just three as the Lady Mocs (31-15) went 4-1 on the week, including taking two of three from Elon to remain atop the Southern Conference standings with a 9-1 record.

Against conference teams this season, Holloway is 3-0 with a 1.42 ERA.

For the year, Holloway is 7-1 with one save and a 3.09 ERA. She has recorded 39 strikeouts in 45.1 innings.

Lady Scots soaring The Covenant Lady Scots, coached by former Ridgeland and Carson-Newman star Lisa Rogers, made it six wins in a row on Monday, defeating Bluefield in a doubleheader at Frost Stadium in Chattanooga.

Former Northwest Whitfield player LeeAnn Moody pitched a five-inning, six-hitter in a 10-1 Game 1 win while former Dade County standout Laura Moore gave up just three hits in six innings as Covenant won 8-0 in Game 2.

Covenant (11-20) overall is 7-3 in their first season in the Appalachian Athletic Conference, trailing only
