The Rossville Middle School Bulldogs moved to 2-0 overall after a big 43-0 Homecoming win over Dade County on Thursday.
Jamie Wilbanks got Rossville going with an 83-yard punt return for a touchdown. Jacob Smoliks fored fumble and recovery set Brandon Hawkins 34-yard run later in the first quarter to help put the Dogs up 14-0 at the half.
But the Rossville defense would step up even more in the second half.
Hawkins added a 41-yard scoring run to start off the third quarter and Tylor Swanson returned a Dade pass 26 yards for another score. Devin Bowmans 19-yard run late in the third put Rossville up 37-0. Hawkins added a 53-yard interception for a score in the fourth to end the scoring.
Dalton Qualls added a pair of 2-point conversion runs. Jordan Kirkendoll kicked on extra point and Alex Ridge hit Bowman on one conversion pass.
Hawkins led the way offensively with 103 yards rushing on six carries. Kelsey Knowles paced the defense with seven tackles.
Wilbanks and T.J. Butler combined for eight tackles and four tackles for loss. Other defensive standouts included Jacob Ellis (4 tackles), Andre Davis (3), Qualls (3), Kirkendoll and Jacob Morgan (2.5 each) and Mason Harris (2).
The Bulldogs will travel to Gordon Lee on Thursday for a 4:30 p.m. kickoff. The game will be a rematch of last years NGAC title game, which the Trojans won 46-24
