The Rossville Middle School Bulldogs picked up their first win of the season last Thursday at Lakeview, beating Heritage Middle in the first-ever game for the Generals.

The Generals took an 18-14 lead into the locker room, but were outscored 16-0 by the Bulldogs in the second half.

Jamie Wilbanks scored three touchdowns for the Dogs on runs of 1, 15 and 15 yards. He finished with 78 yards on 11 carries. Brandon Hawkins rushed 11 times for a team-high 164 yards and scored on a 20-yard run.

Tylor Swanson led Rossville in tackles with seven. Kelsey Knowles added 5.5 and Jacob Ellis had a very active game on defense with 4.5 tackles, one for loss, one sack and three forced fumbles.

Devin Bowman also had a big game with two interceptions, one coming near the Rossville goal line to thwart a Heritage drive and preserve a four-point Rossville lead.

Rossville (1-0) will host Dade County for Homecoming on Sept. 8
