A Rossville man, Thavisouk Somphouvieng, 35, claimed $5 million on a scratch-off card on Friday, Dec. 21.

The ticket, called Georgia’s 500 Million Club, was purchased for $20 at Sunset Market on Battlefield Parkway in Fort Oglethorpe, according to Georgia Lottery media relations specialist Kimberly Lundy.

Lundy said the chances of winning the $5 million scratch off is 1 in 3.7 million. The chance of winning the $1 million Georgia 500 Million Club scratch off is 1 in 930,000.

In December, there has been one $1 million winner and one $5 million winner, including Somphouvieng," Lundy said. "Since Jan. 30, there has been twenty-four $1 million winners and six $5 million winners."
