Suzanne F. Bone is the new reporter at the Walker County Messenger, effective March 1. She replaces Catherine Edgemon, who was promoted to editor of the Fort Oglethorpe Press.

Before coming to the Messenger, Bone, a Rossville resident, wrote personal columns and a weekly “Cook of the Week” feature for the Calhoun Times.

She grew up in West Point and graduated from Troup County Comprehensive High School in LaGrange. She attended Troy State University in Troy, Ala., where she was a member of the Phi Mu sorority.

Bone was a stay-home mother and homemaker for five years after her only child, son Seth, now 6, was born.

Bone is both excited and anxious about the endeavor.

“I know that I have much to learn, but I have a lot of faith in my co-workers to steer me in the right direction,” she said
