Mark Reavely of Ringgold won a delightful prize to kick-start the summer. Reavely, 38, won $50,000 playing Jumbo Bucks Classic, a Georgia Lottery instant game.
He bought the winning ticket at Sunrise Market, 550 Page Road in Rossville, while on his way to work. He scratched the ticket in his car.
I was in complete shock, said Reavely, who works at a Fort Oglethorpe medical center. I told my mother, and she had a fit. She was really excited.
His immediate plans are to pay bills.
I never expected it, but winning feels great, he said.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $9 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgias HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgias Prekindergarten Program. More than 1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 790,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
