People concerned about the atrocities at Tri-State Crematory had a chance to air their questions during a town meeting Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Bank of LaFayette Community Room.

A panel of investigators and officials were available to answer questions to the best of their knowledge and within the limits set by a gag order issued Feb. 21 by Superior Court Judge Ralph Hill.

The hour-long broadcast was the first chance for the general public to ask questions of officials either in person, by phone, or by e-mail.

Walker County officials on the panel included Commissioner Bebe Heiskell, Emergency Management Director David Ashburn, coroner DeWayne Wilson and Sheriff Steve Wilson. Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney Buzz Franklin and Georgia chief medical examiner Kris Sperry were also present.

Sponsored by a Chattanooga television station and radio station, the meeting was broadcast live on television
