Oakwood Christian Academy received help from Lookout Mountain Drug Task Force Commander, Larry Black, and officer Tim Black who ensured the children at OCA would have a playground on the first day of school.

OCA had truckloads of mulch delivered to the school as they prepared for the new school year. The Oakwood Baptist Church service team (youth and college/career members) used shovels and rakes to spread the mulch for days.

Ms. Hooper, grandparent of an OCA student, gained assistance from Rick Worley, who volunteered to allow the school to borrow a bobcat. Then, she recruited Lookout Mountain Drug Task Force commander, Larry Black and officer Tim Black, who came that evening and used the equipment to complete the task.

On the first day of school 230+ students were able to play on the playground.
