Randy Hufstetler, a Plainville minister arrested last month on child molestation charges, was released Thursday from the Gordon County Jail on a $40,000 bond.

He has been charged with three counts of child molestation and one count of aggravated sexual battery.

He had been denied bail earlier by Magistrate Court, but Judge Shepperd Howell, Superior Court Judge, signed off on the bond Thursday. He was arrested Friday, June 19, at his Plainville construction business.

The charges stem from an investigation into reports of inappropriate contact with a then 11-year-old girl who attended the same church with Hufstetler a number of years before.

Detectives have interviewed a second young person acquainted with Hufstetler and who is believed to have been victimized.

The investigation is continuing.
