COMMUNITY · Camp New Dawn Spaghetti Supper Fundraiser will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 22, at the Second Baptist Church in LaFayette. Dinner includes spaghetti, bread, vegetable, and dessert. All meals will be packed for takeout, but there will be tables set up in the church gym. Plates cost $7.50. Call 760-539-2235 to reserve a meal or see camp staff to purchase tickets.

CHURCH · The combined choirs of County Line Baptist Church of Enterprise, Ala., and McFarland United Methodist Church of Rossville will present, “In the Presence of Jehovah,” at 7 p.m. Friday, March 22. The church is at 101 E. Gordon Avenue in Rossville. All are welcome.

EDUCATION · The Gordon Lee High School Alumni Association has re-established scholarships. The application deadline is Monday, April 8. There will be one awarded to a graduating senior plus one alumnus who is presently in college or plans to enroll soon. COMMUNITY · Catoosa County's First Annual Diaper Drive hosted by the Battlefield Civitan Club is going on now. Diapers for newborns to adults can be donated through March 23 at Sentry Station Tire located at 2645 Battlefield Parkway in Fort Oglethorpe. ENTERTAINMENT · Ensemble Theatre of Chattanooga (ETC) is presenting “Sight For Sore Eyes.” The production runs through March 24. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. at the theatre's space inside Eastgate Town Center at 5600 Brainerd Road. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for students with a valid student ID. ENTERTAINMENT · The Berry College Dance Troupe will perform an annual spring concert Friday, March 22, and Saturday, March 23, at the Rome City Auditorium. SUMMER CAMP · Digital Media Summer Camp at Mercer University, Center for Collaborative Journalism, 1400 Coleman Avenue in Macon, will be held June 23-29. COMMUNITY · The Chickamauga Public Library, 306 Cove Road in Chickamauga, will exhibit a “Time Line of Chickamauga from 1820-1899” now through Saturday, March 30. Regular library hours are Tuesday from 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Thursday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon.

ENTERTAINMENT · Now through April 15, the Tennessee Aquarium will offer kids, ages six and up, special activities designed to give up-close creature encounters. Young visitors can sign up for two of the 17 different adventures upon arrival. These are offered free with Aquarium admission on a first-come, first-served basis. Whether it’s feeding otters, trout or turtles, kids can meet Aquarium experts and tour areas that are normally off-limits to guests. CHURCH · Corinth Baptist Church will hold its 4th annual Ladies Day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, March 23. Corinth is at 2524 Corinth Road in LaFayette. Nikki Newbold is guest speaker and will lead music for the worship service. Attendees are encouraged to wear a favorite hat for a best hat contest. Admission is free, but a love offering will be taken to offset expenses.

COMMUNITY · An Easter Egg Hunt will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at the East Armuchee Community Center in Villanow.

COMMUNITY · A Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, March 23, from 2-3 p.m. at Rock Spring United Methodist, 3477 Peavine Road and Highway 95 in Rock Spring. There will be egg hunts in several age groups for children through age 11, a craft station and snacks provided. Prizes will be awarded for the most eggs and the “Lucky Egg” in each age group.

CHURCH · “Walk the Red Carpet” annual banquet hosted by Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at the Walker County Civic Center. There will be special guests, comedian Terrence G. and music by Rev. Dodson &The New Wings of Glory. Dress to impress; formal or semi-formal attire. Tickets cost $25 each or $250 for a table of 10. COMMUNITY · The La Fayette-Walker County Public Library is continuing its new monthly series of Teen Programming called DIY Teen. March’s program will be hosted on Saturday, March 23, at 1 p.m. Exhibited photographer, Brandon Sharp, will lead this month’s DIY Teen program: Creative Photography. Participants will experiment with different staging techniques to produce innovative and fun photographs to share with friends on a favorite social media site. Participants are encouraged to bring digital cameras or camera phones.

COMMUNITY · A free eight hour series of basic diabetes management classes will be taught by registered nurse Linda Long, a certified diabetes educator, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, March 23 and 30, at the Chickamauga Public Library. ENTERTAINMENT · Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in greenified style at Shamrock (Rock) City, Saturday and Sunday March 23 and 24. Rock City hosts this sixth annual Irish festival with Irish food, drinks, bands, jig lessons, and children’s activities.

COMMUNITY · The Walker County Historical Society will meet at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 24, at the newly-restored Mars Theater on Chattanooga Street in West LaFayette. Jane Williams Gilreath will share photos of Old West LaFayette, the Mars Theatre and the depot shopping district. Community members are invited to gather the history of the area to help with the present depot district restoration and to gather information for the WCHS newsletter. Bring old photos, documents, and mementos back when West LaFayette was the largest population center in Walker County with regular trains to Chattanooga and Rome, a movie theater, schools, and shops. Photos will be copied at the meeting. Bring a folding chair since the theater seating has not yet been installed.
