COMMUNITY · A Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Seminar will be offered from 6-8 p.m.Wednesday, March 20, at Erlanger East (Gunbarrel Road, Chattanooga). Area residents who are overweight and /or with health problems related to obesity are invited to learn more about the Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Center at Erlanger. COMMUNITY · Childbirth Education will be offered from 5:30-8:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, at Erlanger East (Gunbarrel Road, Chattanooga). This childbirth education class is designed for expectant parents and taught by experienced OB nurses. These classes include stages of labor, relaxation and labor support techniques, hospital procedures, pain management options, after birth and home care for moms and in-hospital care for newborns. SUMMER CAMP · Digital Media Summer Camp at Mercer University, Center for Collaborative Journalism, 1400 Coleman Avenue in Macon, will be held June 23-29. The regular application deadline is May 10; late registration deadline is May 31. COMMUNITY · The Chickamauga Public Library, 306 Cove Road in Chickamauga, will exhibit a “Time Line of Chickamauga from 1820-1899” now through Saturday, March 30. Regular library hours are Tuesday from 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Thursday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon.

ENTERTAINMENT · Now through April 15, the Tennessee Aquarium will offer kids, ages six and up, special activities designed to give up-close creature encounters. Young visitors can sign up for two of the 17 different adventures upon arrival. These are offered free with Aquarium admission on a first-come, first-served basis. Whether it’s feeding otters, trout or turtles, kids can meet Aquarium experts and tour areas that are normally off-limits to guests. GOVERNMENT · The Fort Oglethorpe Downtown Development Authority for THIS MONTH ONLY has changed the regular meeting date to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Fort Oglethorpe City Hall. Members will review proposed changes to the Refresh Committee Master Plan.

ENTERTAINMENT · The Berry College Dance Troupe will perform an annual spring concert Thursday, March 21, Friday, March 22, and Saturday, March 23, at the Rome City Auditorium. COMMUNITY · Eating Well: Nutrition for the Cancer Patient will be offered from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Erlanger Baroness (Oncology Conference Room). This class will educate patients and caregivers on the basic nutritional needs as they progress trough their cancer treatment as well as to address treatment side effects impacting nutrition such as nausea/vomiting, taste alteration, dry mouth, sore mouth, decrease appetite, etc.

COMMUNITY · Catoosa County's First Annual Diaper Drive hosted by the Battlefield Civitan Club is going on now. Diapers for newborns to adults can be donated through March 23 at Sentry Station Tire located at 2645 Battlefield Parkway in Fort Oglethorpe. COMMUNITY · Camp New Dawn Spaghetti Supper Fundraiser will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 22, at the Second Baptist Church in LaFayette. Dinner includes spaghetti, bread, vegetable, and dessert. All meals will be packed for takeout, but there will be tables set up in the church gym. Plates cost $7.50. Call 760-539-2235 to reserve a meal or see camp staff to purchase tickets.

CHURCH · The combined choirs of County Line Baptist Church of Enterprise, Ala., and McFarland United Methodist Church of Rossville will present, “In the Presence of Jehovah,” at 7 p.m. Friday, March 22. The church is at 101 E. Gordon Avenue in Rossville. All are welcome.

ENTERTAINMENT · Ensemble Theatre of Chattanooga (ETC) is presenting “Sight For Sore Eyes.” The production runs through March 24. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. at the theatre's space inside Eastgate Town Center at 5600 Brainerd Road.
