ENTERTAINMENT · Now through April 15, the Tennessee Aquarium will offer kids, ages six and up, special activities designed to give up-close creature encounters. Young visitors can sign up for two of the 17 different adventures upon arrival. These are offered free with Aquarium admission on a first-come, first-served basis. Whether it’s feeding otters, trout or turtles, kids can meet Aquarium experts and tour areas that are normally off-limits to guests. ENTERTAINMENT · Ensemble Theatre of Chattanooga (ETC) is presenting “Sight For Sore Eyes.” The production runs through March 24. This class includes topics such as physiology of breastfeeding, advantages of breastfeeding, techniques for successful breastfeeding, common pitfalls and challenges, returning to work and pumping. Diapers for newborns to adults can be donated through March 23 at Sentry Station Tire located at 2645 Battlefield Parkway in Fort Oglethorpe. COMMUNITY · Wear green for pink at Naomi Elementary School’s Breast Cancer Awareness Walk from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day) at the LaFayette High School track. Walk or jog to raise money for breast cancer research. Suggested donation is $5 for adults, $3 for walkers age 17 and younger, or $10 for families of three or more. Proceeds go to breast cancer research.

COMMUNITY · The deadline to register for the 2013 Caregiver’s Conference is Monday, March 18. The conference will be held Tuesday, March 26, and is hosted by the North Georgia Regional Office of the Alzheimer’s Association, Georgia Chapter. The one-day conference will be held at the Calhoun Seventh-Day Adventist Church and is free to immediate family members of a person with Alzheimer’s or other dementia, and includes lunch. The cost for all other attendees is $15. The Caregiver’s Conference is designed to equip caregivers with the skills to understand and address issues throughout the continuum of Alzheimer’s disease.

COMMUNITY · Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park is seeking public comment on its amended general management plan. The plan changes provide guidance for making informed decisions about the future of park resource conditions and visitor experiences within the Lookout Mountain Battlefield unit of the park. The National Park Service has developed two preliminary alternative management concepts for the battlefield for public review, comment, suggestions, and advice. The preliminary alternatives and proposed changes to management zoning for Lookout Mountain can be viewed at: www.parkplanning.nps.gov/chch.
