The popular movie and game rental company Redbox is out $700 after someone damaged one of its kiosks at the CVS store on Battlefield Parkway.

According to the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department, the vandalism occurred between 1 p.m. on Jan. 15 and 1 p.m. on Jan. 16 at the CVS at 887 Ga. 2 (Battlefield Parkway).

A Redbox employee contacted police after being called to the location to repair a broken touch screen.

The kiosk had a shattered touch screen. The Redbox employee told police the screen cost approximately $700 to replace.

Officer Michael Fergerson touched base with the CVS manager, who was able to retrieve the store's video surveillance from the incident.

"The store manager showed me the video footage, and it showed a young white male pull up in front of the kiosk in a green Ford Mustang," Fergerson said. "The male walked up to the machine and appeared to be having trouble with the machine. He then suddenly walked away from the machine and left the scene."

The footage of the incident was then collected as evidence.
