A dispute over who owned a DVD led to a Rossville woman being assaulted.

According to the Walker County Sheriff’s office:

David Shane Morgan of 202 Ridge Hollow Lane in Rossville was arrested at 2:53 a.m. on Dec. 6 for battery and cruelty to children.

Morgan and a female got into an argument over which one of them owned a DVD.

According to the victim statements, he grabbed her hair and then hit the woman.

She managed to get away from the man and called 911. The responding deputy documented marks that were consistent with the allegations and Morgan was arrested.

A 2-year-old child witnessed the incident, leading to the family violence charge of cruelty to children.
