LaFayette wrestlers go 2-1 in Tuesday quad-match

The LaFayette Middle School mat Ramblers went 2-1 in a home quad-match on Tuesday that also featured fellow NGAC teams Ringgold, Chattanooga Valley and Dade County.

Ringgold handed LaFayette a 48-32 loss in their first match. Scoring pins for the Ramblers were Houston Lumpkin, Gage Smith, Matt Heaps and T.J. Dixon. Jacob Mariakis and Cole Lumpkin each won by major decision.

LaFayette faced Dade County in the second match and claimed a 60-30 win. Mariakis, Lumpkin, Smith, Heaps, Kyle Ludy, Cole Ingram and Cody Deal all won by pin. Dixon and Justus Dempsey won by forfeit.

The night’s final match saw the Ramblers beat Chattanooga Valley, 46-36. Mariakis, Lumpkin, Ingram, Dixon and Ethan Black all won by pin. Smith won by major decision and Devin Bradley picked his first win on the season by pin.

Individual results from Chattanooga Valley were not available as of press time.

All four squads will be in action at the NGAC Duals Saturday at Lakeview Middle School.
