• Between 7:20 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, a forced-entry residential burglary occurred on Victor Lane in Ringgold resulting in the theft of nearly $20,000 worth of cash, electronics, jewelry, and firearms from the home.

The victim told police he arrived home to find that someone had entered his house and stole numerous items from within.

Inspection of the residence revealed that entrance was made by prying open the back door of the home as there was damage to the door and the door frame.

A nearby window was also broken along with visible damage to the window frame.

$5,000 worth of $100 bills were taken from the home in addition to multiple televisions, assorted jewelry, and numerous firearms.

Several vehicle titles were also taken during the incident.

The victim was able to provide police with additional information and an accurate count of all the missing property a couple of days later.

The case was turned over to detective Freddie Roden.

• Between Nov. 30 and Dec. 3, a theft by taking occurred on U.S. 41 in Ringgold resulting in the theft off approximately $350 worth of wire from the location.

The complainant stated that an unknown offender(s) climbed over a chain linked fence that also has three runs of barbed wire running above it and stole a considerable amount of copper wire from the construction site.

Upon arrival, it was discovered that the copper wire had been pulled from the ground and cut off with bolt cutters.

Although the wire was only valued at $350, the estimated expense of labor and equipment to replace the stolen wire was said to be $1,500.

Employees with the construction site told police that they had no knowledge of any leads or possible suspects.

Extra patrol was added to the construction site for nights and weekends, and the case was turned over to detective Daniel Thacker.
