A Flintstone woman is facing numerous theft charges after being arrested for allegedly stealing cash and gift cards while working at the Wal-Mart on Battlefield Parkway in Fort Oglethorpe.

According to the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department:

Anna Ruth Cribbs, 57, of Nickajack Road in Flintstone was arrested Tuesday, Nov. 6, on two counts of theft and four counts of financial transaction card theft. She has been released from jail on bond.

Over a period of about a month, an internal investigation was conducted by the store's loss prevention team.

"I was informed by a loss prevention employee that he was completing an investigation that Ms. Cribbs was unlawfully taking gift cards and cash while she was working at the store as a cashier," said detective Sgt. Keith Sewell. "The internal investigation had been going on for quite sometime."

The investigation began on Oct. 12, and ended with Cribbs' arrest on Nov. 6, reports show.

About $215 worth of gift cards and cash were listed as stolen during that time span.
