COMMUNITY · The 12th Annual Chattanooga Buddy Walk® will take place at AT&T Field, home of the Chattanooga Lookouts on Saturday, Oct. 13. Holtzclaw Ave. Banana Ball is the Chattanooga Zoo’s signature fundraising event with all proceeds going to the care of the zoo’s animals, as well as its conservation, education and rehabilitation efforts. COMMUNITY · Cloudland Canyon offers hay rides every Saturday now through Nov. 24. On Halloween, Wednesday, Oct. 31, there will be three night rides at 6, 7 and 8 p.m., for those who want to travel a long dark, dirt road into the forest to meet goblins and scary things of every description. Hot dogs, S'mores, snacks and drinks will be sold. Leashed and licensed pets may also ride. Meet at the Interpretive Center. Rides start on the hour from 2-6 p.m., except for Halloween. COMMUNITY · Tryouts will be held in LaFayette for an all-female football team. The North Georgia Thrashers are a new women’s football team trying to gain approval into the Women’s Football Alliance. All tryouts are at LaFayette High School at 10 a.m. every Saturday in September and the first two Saturdays in October. The team is accepting women of all shapes and sizes and ages 18 and older.
