COMMUNITY · The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) will help One Eleven Restaurant and Chattanooga Street Tavern, a new establishment located at 123 North Chattanooga Street, in LaFayette, fill about 10 jobs for cooks, servers, and bartenders. The recruitment will be held from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11, on the second floor at One Eleven Restaurant, 111 East LaFayette Square in LaFayette. Applicants for the cook and server positions must be at least 16 years old, while those who apply to serve alcoholic beverages must be at least 18. COMMUNITY · Tryouts will be held in LaFayette for an all-female football team. The North Georgia Thrashers are a new women’s football team trying to gain approval into the Women’s Football Alliance. All tryouts are at LaFayette High School at 10 a.m. every Saturday in September and the first two Saturdays in October. The team is accepting women of all shapes and sizes and ages 18 and older.
