Doors open at 6 p.m., and the event begins at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend this free event.
Three local elections with opposition are on the ballot for the November election. Candidates from the following races are invited to attend: Walker County sheriff, Georgia House of Representatives-District 1, and Walker County commissioner.
Participating candidates will present their responses to questions that have been prepared by the Chamber’s governmental affairs committee. Once the questions have been answered by each opponent, the candidates will have a rebuttal opportunity.
Walker County Chamber of Commerce political policy
It is the policy of the Walker County Chamber of Commerce to remain neutral regarding political campaigns. The Chamber does not support/endorse individual candidates. Campaign materials (buttons, yard signs, stickers, brochures, etc.) are not allowed to be distributed or left at the Walker County Chamber of Commerce’s offices or at any of the organization’s events.
The Chamber hosts candidates forums, and candidates are encouraged to participate. During these events, candidates are asked uniformed questions and are all given the same amount of time to respond.
