A Chickamauga woman was charged with shoplifting after she allegedly attempted to steal nearly $100 worth of clothes from the Wal-Mart on Battlefield Parkway.

According to the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department:

Brittany Michelle Mannis, 18, of Oakwood Street in Chickamauga was arrested Friday, Sept. 14, and charged with shoplifting. She has been released from jail on bond.

Officers were dispatched to the Wal-Mart at 3040 Ga. 2 (Battlefield Parkway) just before 4 p.m. after store employees witnessed Mannis concealing various articles of clothing from throughout the store in her purse.

About $91 worth of merchandise was recovered.
