COMMUNITY · The Catoosa County Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting at Gadzooks Frozen Yogurt at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24. Gadzooks is at 2632 Battlefield Parkway in Fort Oglethorpe.

COMMUNITY · The Chattanooga History Center will present a walking tour, The Environmental History of Chattanooga, in Renaissance Park, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25. Dr. Daryl Black of the center will serve as tour guide. Registered participants should meet at the pavilion building beside the Renaissance Park parking lot on Manufacturers' Road. Bariatric support group meetings are for individuals scheduled to have bariatric surgery or who have already had weight loss surgery. COMMUNITY · A childbirth education will be held from 6-10 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at Erlanger East (Gunbarrel Road, Chattanooga). This childbirth education class/series is designed for expectant parents and taught by experienced OB nurses. These classes include stages of labor, relaxation and labor support techniques, hospital procedures, pain management options, after birth and home care for moms and in-hospital care for newborns. COMMUNITY · The Walker County Health Department will offer flu vaccinations, for adults age 18 years and older, at a special drive-through flu-shot clinic on a first-come, first-serve basis from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at the health department, 603 E. Villanow Street in LaFayette. Cost is $20. Cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Medicare, Medicaid and both United Healthcare and CIGNA State Health Benefit Insurance will be accepted. For children older than six months, flu shots will be available by appointment beginning Sept. 27. Cost is also $20. Parents should call 706-638-5577 to schedule.
