The LaFayette Lady Ramblers rallied for the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh inning and claimed an important 2-1 victory at Lakeview on Thursday.

With two outs in the top half of the seventh, Shayla Youngblood and Katie Cook drew walks, and Shayla Ludy's third hit of the afternoon drove in the game-winner. Pitcher Lindsey Shepherd then retired the Lady Warriors in order to end the game.

Shepherd hurled a complete game with six strikeouts. The run she allowed was unearned. She also got help from her defense as she stranded Lakeview runners at third base on two separate occasions. Kayleigh Goff made a big defensive play in the game, turning in a key catch before firing a strike to catcher Madison Harris to gun down a runner at the plate.

McKenzie Hogue had a triple and drove in a run while also making a diving catch at third base to rob Lakeview of extra bases. Harris also had a triple and scored once in the win.

LaFayette (12-5) will play at Trion on Friday in an NGAC league game.
