Junior golfers began fall season

The Northwest Georgia Junior Golf Association began its fall swing Saturday as 35 golfers teed off at Nob North Golf Course with several Walker County players turning in solid performances.

Riley Grant won the 11-under boys' division with a 46, while Kelsey Hodge's 50 was good enough to win the 11-under girls' division. Cole Ingram fired a 36 to win the boys' 12-13 division.

Also competing in the 12-13 boys' division was Carter Grant (46) and Jon Morgan (47). Jacob Morgan was second in the 14-15 boys' division with an 86 while Matthew Ingram was third with an 87.

The next tournament will be Sept. 29 at Field's Ferry Golf Course in Calhoun.

LaFayette Golf Course will hold golf clinics for elementary school-age players beginning this Tuesday from 4-6 p.m.
