Along with students dealing with a new curriculum, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School parents are fighting new construction projects when it comes to dropping off their children.

Some are saying it is adding an extra 20-30 minutes delay getting their kids to the front door and getting back onto Battlefield Parkway.

While construction is under way on a new parking lot in front of the school, parking for the time being is at a premium. The new lot should handle the parking lost when construction begins on the new gymnasium.

Meanwhile, the school's website lists the following instructions on traversing school property:

- Traffic around the school is one-way.

- The lane in front of the school is for buses only.'

Please enter the school property normally but follow the road to the back of the school towards the JROTC Building.

All traffic will go down by the tennis courts, with the left lane turning to go out by Battlefield Primary. The right lane will proceed down the baseball/softball fields to Lakeshore Drive.

There will be no traffic coming up from Battlefield Elementary, Battlefield Primary or the baseball/softball fields.

The one-way road begins just below the visitor's side of the football stadium.

Excellent!! Make it even MORE dangerous for the little kids at BPS!! Great thinking!! Hey, just for the heck of it, who came up with the plans and project start time for this? I want to send them a thank you gift for their great foresight and the much needed extra parking! Please don't tell me they are the product of any Georgia public school...
