Tuckers mark half-century of marriage

Othell and Carolyn Tucker of LaFayette celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 18 with a party hosted by their daughters at the LaFayette Golf Course club house. The Tuckers married at Calvary Baptist Church in Summerville on Aug. 19, 1962. After a 21-year Naval career, they returned to LaFayette where they were the proprietors of Tucker's Mar-ket for 17 years before retiring. The couple have two children, Alicia Tucker Morrison and Sharon Tucker Newby, and seven grandchildren: Justin Newby, Kara Newby Gilbreath, Kelsey Newby, Tucker Benton, Amber Morrison, Clay Morrison and Wyatt Morrison. They have one great-grandson, Maxis Newby.
