LaFayette has joined cities across the state to create the Great Water Heater Round Up. In addition to a free natural gas tank water heater for its citizens, the city is offering a $200 rebate towards the installation of a natural gas tank water heater, according to a media release.
Other incentives include $300 towards the purchase and installation of a natural gas tankless water heater and half-off the gas tap fee for new natural gas customers. Natural gas tankless water heating is one of the more efficient ways to heat water today, according to the release.
“The City of LaFayette cares about its citizens and wants to do what we can to make our homes and places of business energy efficient, comfortable and enjoyable places to be,” said Rod Robertson, gas superintendent. “The Great Water Heater Round Up is an excellent opportunity for citizens to switch out their electric or propane water heaters to natural gas.”
The Great Water Heater Round Up is a partnership between local governments in Georgia, water heater manufacturers, local contractors and local businesses to help consumers understand the advantages of natural gas water heating. During these 60 days, special rebates, offers and events will be available to consumers to help with the purchase and installation of a natural gas water heater.
