I would like to share my recent experience in our lovely little small town of Fort Oglethorpe.
Late in the middle of the night, our family puppy, Jasper, became ill. We held him, cradled him and watched, determined that he would be okay. Early in the morning, it was clear that he needed medical attention.
We were so upset and distraught, and having three little children at home, we didn't have the money to seek veterinarian care. We decided to hope someone would have the heart to help us and went a few short blocks down on Lafayette Road and ran in and told them what was going on.
They refused to help us. All they said when we told them we would pay, that we just didn’t have any money right now, was that they accept Visa and Mastercard. They could see Jasper seizuring in my arms, and they turned us away and sent us out the door.
Competely hopeless, we traveled down to the Animal Medical Center in Fort Oglethorpe, thinking we had nothing left to lose. We took our little Jasper in the front doors, and the wonderful lady at the counter never asked a single question. She grabbed little Jasper out of my arms and ran him to the back, and they began treating him immediately. I was just so shocked after having been turned away just moments before.
The veterinarian came out right away and explained my options, offering to treat Jasper with a deposit, which was minor compared to the money it was going to cost. However, Jasper was put to sleep because he was just so sick.
We were just so glad that these angels were there to help us. I have the bill, which I intend to pay; I just wanted to share with everyone how amazing this place is. They were just so friendly, tender-hearted people. I would highly recommend to everyone in the area to take your pets to the Animal Medical Center on Battelfield Parkway for any of your pet needs. If your pets are a member of your family like our little Jasper was to us, this is the best place to go.
I just want to publicly thank the Animal Medical Clinic for helping us in our time of need and making Jasper comfortable and not making him suffer; all of you that work at that wonderful place are beautiful in every sense of the word. Thank you!
