Voting has begun in the 2012 Best of Walker contest, sponsored by the Walker County Chamber of Commerce and the Walker County Messenger. This is the fifth annual contest in which residents are encouraged to vote for the favorites in local services in 55 categories.

This contest is completely electronic this year and all votes must be made online. To vote in the contest, click here.

Voters are encouraged to fill out as many categories as they wish. However, when voting for a specific person, please list the person’s business name and geographic location. Only one submission will be allowed per computer. The deadline for submitting votes is noon Sept. 28.

Winners will be recognized at the 2012 Best of Walker dinner on Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Walker County Civic Center. All winners will be contacted by mail on or before Oct. 19. Registration is required for the event and must be made no later Nov. 11.

Business owners can visit walkercochamber.com/bestofwalker2012.htm to download a flyer to hang in their business stating that they would like to be voted as the best in their category during the contest.
