Voter turnout hits 11% before noon in Catoosa County

As of 11:30 a.m., about 11 percent of Catoosa County’s registered voters had cast ballots in today’s general primary election.

A total of 3,156 people cast ballots before today, in early voting. The elections office said that, as of 11:30 a.m. today, another 1,271 people had cast ballots, bringing the total of votes to 4,427. The county has 40,605 registered voters.

With multiple hot races in Catoosa County, especially the five-man race for sheriff, election officials are expecting a good turnout today.

The county has 12 voting sites. Polls will close at 7 p.m.
