According to Lookout Mountain Drug Task Force reports:
William Lawson Saine of Old Villanow Road in LaFayette was arrested June 21 at his residence.
Several complaints had surfaced that Saine was selling meth in the area.
Drug task force officials went to Saine’s residence acting on information that was developed in the case.
Saine was in the yard as officials arrived and he discarded a “4-gram uncut rock” of meth, also known as “ice,” according to Task Force commander Pat Doyle.
A canine unit was brought to the scene and no further drugs were found at the residence by the dog.
Saine did have $1,401 dollars in cash on him at the time of arrest, according to Doyle.
Doyle estimates that the “rock” could have yielded six grams once it was cut and distributed, which could have sold for as much as $100 per gram. He also stated that the drug is not made locally and “ice” is generally imported from Mexico.
