James said after everyone is registered, she will have someone outside the chapel draw the winning name to be announced July 5. Cadidates must show proof of active duty in the military and will have until the end of August to take advantage of their $500 wedding.
“We have a lot of military come into the chapel from all over the world,” James said. “I’ve met people from Japan, Korea, Germany and Afghanistan. They fly in on their two week rest period, get married and fly back out. They do so much for us so I just wanted to do something for them in return. I thought it would be a nice way to celebrate July Fourth.”
