A Walker County woman and her boyfriend are facing robbery charges for allegedly wielding a gun as they stole a gaming console from a residence.

According to Walker County Sheriff’s Office reports:

Authorities arrested Mary Jane Violet McNeese, 18, of Rock Spring on June 18. She has been charged with robbery, burglary and criminal attempt.

As of June 20, her boyfriend, William Wooten, 19, of LaFayette remained at large. He is facing the same charges.

The couple is accused of stealing, at gunpoint, a Sony PlayStation 2 gaming system, valued at $100, from a Rossville residence on June 10.

The couple allegedly forced their way into the residence on Raydine Lane in Rossville at 2 a.m. McNeese went into the home first, followed by Wooten.

Wooten reportedly held a small gun, chambered a round and pointed it at the juvenile resident, according to one of the victims.

A teenage victim was apparently familiar with the suspects and reported their identities to responding deputy Todd Fahrubel.

The teen told deputies that McNeese had sent harassing text messages for two hours prior to the robbery, then suddenly arrived at the Rossville residence with Wooten.

While McNeese was in the home, Wooten began screaming for the juvenile resident and guests to come outside, appearing to be under the influence of a drug, according to the victim’s statement.

Wooten then entered the residence and beat on a bedroom door as one of the teenage victims called a relative, who in turn called 911.

Wooten and McNeese left in a Jeep Cherokee. The juvenile resident soon discovered that the gaming system was missing as deputies conducted the interviews. However, a deputy observed the Play Station 2 controller was left behind on the living room floor and the cord was partially outside the home on the porch. Several CDs were found scattered on the floor.
