EDUCATION · There will be a called meeting of the Catoosa County Board of Education Wednesday, Feb. 29, ar 1:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the board room at the Board of Education Office on 307 Cleveland Street. The primary purpose of this meeting is to receive our Southern Association of Colleges and Schools report.

COMMUNITY · Ivan Parker of the Gaither Series will perform at the benefit concert for Hope Rebirth Homeless Shelter on March 2, at the Dandee Denson Auditorium in Summerville from 7-9 p.m. The benefit is to raise funds for the completion of the required fire alarm system and other needs at the shelter so that the shelter can be opened for residency. Tickets in advance are $15 or $17 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at following locations: Ma-son’s Funeral Home, Tad’s Quick Lube, Twist and Shake Shop, Triangle Hardware in Trion and at Hope Rebirth.
