Column Jackson: January real estate sales slow for northwest Georgia

According to the Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors Multiple Listing Service (MLS), real estate sales slowed in January for the northwest Georgia area.

There were 125 total sales for the month of December 2011, compared to January sales of 92, a decrease of 33 sales for northwest Georgia. Total dollar sales also decreased in January compared to December sales, though overall total median sales increased. The December median sale was $87,000 compared to January’s median sale of $100,450.

These stats do not include all real estate sales for the month.
