COMMUNITY · Early voting in Catoosa County for the presidential preference primary will begin Monday, Feb. 13 at Catoosa Hall on Nashville St. in Ringgold. Registered voters can cast ballots Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. until March 2. New this year is Saturday voting on Feb. 25 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., and late voting will be available March 1 until 7 p.m.

COMMUNITY · The Catoosa County Historical Society will meet Monday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m. at the Old Stone Church Museum. The museum is located at the intersection of US 41/76 and old Ga. 2, south of Ringgold. The public is invited for the meeting and for refreshments afterwards. COMMUNITY · The LaFayette-Walker County Public Library will host an ongoing Valentine Craft Corner on Feb. 13 and 14. All ages are welcome to participate.

COMMUNITY · The LaFayette-Walker County Public Library will have their Preschool Ready to READ class on Mondays, Feb. 13, 20 and 27 at 10 a.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 14

COMMUNITY · On Feb. 14 and 15, Parkridge Health System will offer AngioScreen, a simple, non-invasive vascu-lar screening designed to provide men and women with information about heart rhythm, neck and leg artery block-age, blood pressure and body mass index in addition to an overall fitness assessment. The Feb. 14 screening will be held from 8 a.m. till 5 p.m. at Parkridge East Hospital in the Lamaze/Birthplace Classroom and the Feb. 15 screen-ing will be held from 8 a.m. till 5 p.m. at Parkridge Medical Center in the Fowler Classroom. The cost for the Angio-screen is $50. A screening for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm can be added for an additional $30. For more informa-tion or to schedule a screening, call MedLine at 800-242-5662.

GOVERNMENT · The Walker County Board of Education will hold a planning session at the Walker County Schools Advancing Education Center at 6 p.m. For more information, call 706-638-1240.

COMMUNITY · Teens are invited to protest the grossly over-commercialized Valentine’s holiday with a “Down with Romance” party at the LaFayette-Walker County Public Library. The event begins at 5 p.m. with food, crafts, games and music.
