In a sting conducted by the Northwest Georgia Crimes Against Children Task Force, a Sugar Hill, Ga., man was arrested after he allegedly traveled to Ringgold to have sexual contact with what he believed to be two minor children.

According to the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office:

George Andrei Drumea, 27, of 232 Ashton Lake Court in Sugar Hill, was arrested on Jan. 31 and charged with two counts of criminal attempt to commit aggravated child molestation, two counts of computer pornography and violating the Child Exploitation Act of 1999, and possession of a firearm/knife while trying to commit a crime.

Drumea remained Tuesday in Catoosa County jail, with no bond having been set at this time.

During ongoing communication with undercover detectives via the Internet, Drumea expressed his intent to have sexual contact with two fictitious female children ages 12 and 14.

Drumea then traveled to Ringgold at the location discussed in his computer dialogue, at which time he was met by detectives and sheriff’s deputies at a gas station along Ga. 2 (Battlefield Parkway), reports show.

Upon arriving at the location, Drumea sent multiple text messages, which notified officers of his exact location as well as gave the description of his vehicle.

During the arrest, a loaded Glock handgun was discovered lying in the back floorboard of the vehicle.

Drumea was then transported to Catoosa County jail without incident.
