ENTERTAINMENT · The movie “Courageous,” produced by the same people who made “Facing the Giants” and “Fireproof,” will be shown free of charge at First Baptist Church, LaFayette, Sunday, Jan. 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. ENTERTAINMENT · Spatial Effects will perform at Smith Chapel Sunday, Jan. 29. The music will begin at 6 p.m. Also appearing with the band will be special guest singer John Pitts. The band, with members hailing from the north Georgia/Chattanooga area, has performed at a variety of venues in the Southeast and has opened for Moun-tain Heart, Claire Lynch, Pam Gadd, and the Lovell Sisters. COMMUNITY · No Limits Basketball continues throughout the month of February. No Limits focuses on fun, ba-sic basketball skills and exercise for students and adults with or without disabilities. Participants must be at least 4-years-old and there is a $15 charge. Friends and family of persons with disabilities are encouraged to join in the fun. COMMUNITY · U.S. Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-9) has announced a series of Walker County Days as part of his 9th Congressional District county connection program. A constituent services representative from Graves’ office will be available to meet with local constituents Jan. 31 from 1 to 3 p.m. The constituent services representative will be available at the Walker County Courthouse Annex, 101 South Duke St., LaFayette. Staff members are trained to assist Georgians with casework, questions and concerns pertaining to federal programs or policy issues. The re-maining meeting days for 2012 are March 27, May 22, July 17, Sept. 11 and Nov. 6, from 1 to 3 p.m.

COMMUNITY · The Brown Bag Book Club will meet Tuesday, Jan. 31, from 12 –1:30 p.m. at the LaFayette-Walker County Public Library. This month’s featured book is “The Art of Racing in the Rain” by Garth Stein.
