Fortunately there was no fire and the smoke was circulating through the kitchens ducts, caused by a faulty air-conditioner belt.
LaFayette police and fire department were on the scene five minutes after the 911 call, according to LaFayette police chief Tommy Freeman.
School officials evacuated the entire building for 15-20 minutes as a precaution.
School system officials were also on scene to help school officials. Maintenance workers discovered the source of the smoke.
