Food Lion stores in Fort Oglethorpe, Rossville to close

Delhaize America, the company that runs Food Lions, will close 126 stores, including a store in Fort Oglethorpe and one in Rossville, as well as stores in Chattanooga and Trenton.

Food Lion stores at 1800 Lafayette Road in Fort Oglethorpe and 201 W. Gordon Ave. in Rossville will close.

The company said the 126 stores are under-performing in an increasingly competitive market and will be closed within 30 days. The closings will mean 4,900 job cuts. The company has 1,600 stores in 16 states.
