A Rossville man was arrested for DUI shortly before 3 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day immediately after pulling into his own driveway.

According to the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department:

Jonathan Joseph Pinter, 25, of 9 Briarstone Drive in Rossville, was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 24, and charged with DUI and failure to maintain lane. Pinter has been released on bond.

Pinter was observed weaving across a double yellow line while traveling south on Mack Smith Road near Kathe-rine Lane, reports show.

“I conducted a traffic stop on Steele Road at Briarstone Lane, where the vehicle turned into 9 Briarstone Lane and stopped,” officer Michael Furgerson wrote in the report. “I asked the offender if he lived at 9 Briarstone Lane, and he stated that he did. While speaking with him (Pinter), I could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his breath.”

Pinter admitted to consuming four beers at a Chattanooga restaurant as well as two beers earlier in the evening, reports show.

“He stumbled as he exited the vehicle, and failed all three standardized field sobriety tests that I adminis-tered,” Furgerson said.

Pinter refused to take the breath test and was placed under arrest.

Pinter’s vehicle and its contents were turned over to his roommate, and he was transported to Catoosa County jail without incident.
