Dear editor:

I read the column by Donna Brazile in your Wednesday paper and was sad to see that it was the usual fare of Democrats (white hats) and Republicans (black hats). When are we just going to look at the facts? There is plenty of blame to be placed on both parties but somehow the major networks are riding donkeys. I did not vote for our current president, but when he went in, I prayed that I would be wrong and he would be the president of the century. That seems not to be the case. I do wonder where people get the idea that placing the biggest tax burden on the richest Americans is the answer. They are the people that invest in the jobs that keep America moving. If we place all the burden on them they will simply sit on their assets and we will sink like the Titanic.

We should look at places like Ireland. They house a large number of our biggest companies. Why? Low taxes. You must keep the businesses growing and their products selling if you grow America. It would also be refreshing is some were made here. We seem to think higher taxes and being the information country is the answer. The information that is selling right now is bad news.

I am an independent; my wish would be to see America a lot more independent. We do too much sitting on our former generation’s work ethic. Our young people want everything now or they don’t want to work at all. We need to wake up and do some serious reform.
