A Chickamauga teen remains in the Catoosa County jail for armed robbery after allegedly pointing a gun at two other teens and demanding money from them in Fort Oglethorpe.

According to Fort Oglethorpe police reports:

Cody Allen Ringley, 17, of 1321 Friendship Lane in Chickamauga, has been arrested for armed robbery, stemming from an Aug. 9 incident.

The 17-year-old victim stated that shortly after 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, she was walking with her 18-year-old boyfriend along the walking trail from Gilbert-Stephenson Park to Fort Oglethorpe City Hall, when two white males jumped out from behind a bush.

She told police one of the males asked them to stop, then pulled out a black handgun and demanded money from her boyfriend. She said the second male asked her if she had any money, to which she responded “no.”

The victim stated that she recognized Ringley as the gunman because the two attend school together. She claims to have even addressed him by name, but that he denied being the person she recognized.

Ringley and the other man then fled the scene.

During investigation of the scene, a white hat was found lying on Howard Street, which met part of the clothing description given by both victims.

The hat was collected as evidence, along with statements by the victims, and the case was turned over to detective Johnny Lanham.

Ringley was picked up by police nine days later and is being held in Catoosa County jail without bond.
